It's been awhile Refresh Nation. I wanted to share my story on how I used Yelp to locate a repair shop when looking for a new muffler. It started from a Google search which brought me to the powerful review site:

Highlights:

- Real Customer Reviews Painted Picture
- Website coupon upsold me on an oil change
- Customer service winners

Really got me to thinking of how many franchise dealers website's I go on that do not have reviews, coupons, or service specials.

Here is the whole story: How I found a muffler repair shop in Toronto using Yelp

Ryan, welcome back stranger. I too have seen some slight growth in popularity with Yelp. They have added some features that work for the consumer. It was a site that was on the back burner for me to watch or worry about getting reviews on in the past but here lately I'm seeing some play. Of course a lot of this have to do with location.

I did a quick snapshot on Compete that helps tell the story..

Ryan Thompson shares how Yelp's customer reviews, coupons, and service specials influenced his decision to choose a repair shop for a muffler replacement, highlighting a gap he noticed where many franchise dealership websites lack these engagement features. Jeff Kershner agrees that Yelp is gaining traction and warrants dealer attention, particularly due to its integration with Google Places, supporting Ryan's observation with traffic data. The key insight is that dealers should prioritize building a presence on review platforms like Yelp, as consumers actively use them in their purchase decisions.
