Why do the threads bring you to the first post; that's super annoying....
I think they should direct you to the latest post with the latest comment.

Often times a thread is so old, the discussion has changed some...
I feel bringing the user to the latest post is easier as they can quickly check the last few updates and have a good handle on what the discussions is all about, plus, they do the title of the thread which is also plenty of info.

@John Colascione thanks for bringing this up. I'm not sure where you're clicking to get this result. If you're using the "Latest Replies" feature then you should be taken to the latest reply.

BUT.. if you're using the main portion of the forums, then you will be taken to the last comment you read within that discussion, or the beginning of the thread because you have yet to have ever read it.

I personally just now tested this several times. After double checking and you're still having the same issues, please let me know.

  • John Colascione reports that clicking on threads consistently takes him to the first post rather than the latest one, which he finds inconvenient for quickly catching up on old discussions.
  • Jeff Kershner clarifies that the forum's "Latest Replies" feature should direct users to the most recent reply, while the main forums section takes you to either your last read position or the beginning if unread, and confirms the feature works correctly after testing.
  • The issue appears to be user-specific settings on Colascione's end rather than a platform-wide problem.
