I would like to chime in if I may. First of all we lease all of our computer equipment, so that there is a constant refresh occurring as machines approach the end of their useful life (3 years). There is some definite confusion in dealerships in regards to what is required with respect to hardware and software. For a typical dealer there is no need for the Pro version of an OS, most do not have domains or require RDP. Home is legal for business use, it just lacks a few features that are key to larger organizations. Back in the day GM dealers had to connect up to the GM domain but those days are long gone. On the hardware front, most users in a dealership run some sort of DMS window (lightweight), browsers and an email client. Hardly taxing for a $500 machine now a days. I know I am on a bit of a ramble here, I guess the point I am trying to make to all of the readers is don't be fooled into buying a high end pc for your stores, rather stick with a lower end unit but from a recognized computer manufacturer.
