Need your help!

I'd like to see a DR blog post in January 2012 featuring "DR Forums in Review, The Best Posts and Threads in 2011".

There are MOUNTAINS of posts in here. You can use my handy lil' "DR Forum Only" search tool: DR Site Search

If you have a favorite, find it, and post why you liked it.

Thnx!

Ryan Leslie is out cruzing the net, sees a dealer in a FB train wreck and realizes there's a lesson in it for all to learn from. He crafts an excellent post that shows us examples of the dangers of life in FaceBook land and then he TOPPS it off with one of the Best forum titles ever!

Rack it!

From the thread "Only 6 vendors to rule them all" a great quote by Joe Pistell:
I formally retract my thoughts that kcar worked for a vendor. All I see below is a noob and a keyboard.

The above quote by you Joe, directed at Kcar, had me falling out of my chair laughing!!

This is a great idea for a thread. I'll posts more favorites, but when I saw the idea for the thread, your Kcar quote immediately popped into my mind first!

Favorites can be HELPFUL posts too.
Sorry Uncle Joe :(

OK -- http://forum.dealerrefresh.com/f40/how-many-leads-can-internet-manager-handle-effectively-2083.html

My 1st day in training at the dealership, the GM asked the training class, "If we sell a car for $20,000, how much does the dealership make?" He had everyone write-down an answer, and he then wrote them on the board. Of the dozen or so trainees, the range was like $15,000 to $1000. The point was that "No One Really Knows."

I never forgot that lesson. And even though the internet means that now people are much more educated, I found it FASCINATING that on this recent thread, even in a concise group of targeted industry insiders, we had such a wide range of answers.

BIG indication that Best Practices are very much still in the developmental stages.

Uncle Joe,

Kind of off topic but do you think your subscription and the custom search located near the bottom of Usedcarking.com makes google more of a friend? I would think so...

I think a great addition to this community has been the "Deals For Dealers" offerings. Although I did not sign up when the deal was 1st offered, it helped me learn about the "Drive It Now" payment marketing program. I have since signed up for the deal and the setup process has been pretty smooth. We should be live with it on our website by the end of the week. I'll keep everyone posted to the success of the program.

Keep bringing the good deals our way for consideration!

Great concept Joe and thanks for the mention. Since all of the posts have a like button, is there an easy way to display posts that have been liked? I think that would be a great addition to an already awesome resource.

There is so much great content collected here I had a hard time narrowing down the helpful threads to choose a favorite, but here are two of my favorite humorous threads:

This one has a lot of humor and even features a run by trolling by kcar:

...and this is going to look like a shameless plug, but I could hardly type I was laughing so hard at this thread. It still makes me laugh:

The most fun I had was early in the year. Grant Cardone ran a ridiculous contest that turned into a mexican gun fight between Myself and Stan "the man" Sher. I don't think the YouTube videos made it through the forum upgrade, but some classic back and forths. Just writing this could set off a Google Alert which could signal round 2 or 3 or 4. :lmao:
