Probably the worst perk of the job is taking the cars home at night and snapping a pic for sunset
That was one of the older photos... Damn aged inventory! Since that shot I have been carrying my tripod and external flashes to avoid the poor light scenario.
You see what's wrong, all I see is killer composition Will!
thoughts:
Careful of the wide angle closeups on the "marquis" shot (the opening shot). It "bends and bubbles' the car and it looses it's shape.
place the "artsy" shot deep in then lineup, then it'll re-enforce your earlier work.
CAN I HAVE AN OMG!

I must say the photos are 10x better if I have clouds blocking the harsh sun. I picked up a new lens that gives me a slight "Fish eye" look at times. I sometimes get carried away and stretch the creative freedom.

If you had a backdrop of some mountains, a few strategically placed plastic deer and a stuffed squirrel, you might have something there Joe.
We've got a good relationship with a local awning company who put together our studio walls and our curtains for the other two sides which are a high opacity white vinyl almost like a tarp in texture, but very low to no gloss. We've got about 9 to 10 lights set up and linked to our Nikon D300S (we plan to move to soft boxes once I can justify the cost to my GM, but that's another topic) and we've never had trouble with light shining through.
And one of just how the curtain looks (I need to yell at him more about closing it tighter)
In our case we're a little limited on where we were able to make this happen, and we're getting the floor done in an 18% grey to both contrast and hide some of the dirt from the shop floor.

I wonder how many consumers end up thinking these are stock / photo shoot pictures and not the actual inventory pictures?
Especially if your dealership site isnt the first they've visited...

I came across a dealer using parachute material as a curtain and it also helped diffuse overhead lighting. Not sure what the expense would be? If you were not going to use soft boxes this might be a solution worth checking out.
