Who's listing inventory on KBB.com

If your certified is being listed for free, well 'beggars can't be choosers' as they say. When I see KBB listed within a dealer's ROI report (platform independent), it's never the 3rd party where tons of money is being spent. However, at times the cost per lead and cost per acquisition is money better spent than the likes of AutoTrader (way too much waste -- just across the board), Cars.com, Car Gurus, etc.

It depends on the preferences of your demographic. Maybe they prefer KBB as opposed to other options? What works in one city, might not in another, etc. I am a broken record when it comes to that statement, but it's true. Obviously, test everything (use a sales attribution tool) and stick with what works.

Greg Schafer asks about paying for inventory listings on KBB.com and their effectiveness, noting his dealership currently lists certified vehicles there for free. The discussion centers on whether KBB paid listings justify their cost compared to other platforms like AutoTrader and Cars.com, with Alexander Lau concluding that ROI varies significantly by market and demographic—making it essential to test different platforms with attribution tools rather than assuming one channel works universally.
