Announcing: LVL Up Auto - Vendor Management Platform

Collaboration is key to success in the automotive industry, and we’re excited to announce 20 Groups, a feature designed to bring dealerships together like never before.

How does this work?
Dealerships thrive when they share knowledge, compare strategies, and collaborate. With LVL Ups20 Groups, you can now:

-Create informal groups with other dealerships in your network
-Share vendor insights, product reviews, and best practices
-Pool vendor intelligence to make smarter, more informed decisions

How Dealerships Are Using 20 Groups?

-Collaborating on Vendor Evaluations: Compare notes on vendor demos and share honest feedback to help everyone make better decisions.
-Planning for Conferences: Coordinate with your group to decide which vendors to meet and prepare together for events like NADA.
-Work as a Team: Leverage group data to identify the best partners

Whether it’s official 20 Groups or informal networks, you can easily invite other dealerships to join and share their experiences. Create a group or joining one takes seconds

Last feature video until closer to the end of the year. We have one more major feature to announce. I am really excited about this one, it's quite ambitious.

Really proud to announce LVL Up News here on DealerRefresh, will share it everywhere else next week.

This is all auto vendor news in one place. We've mapped the content on each vendor and rolled it up with live updating.
  • There are 21 different categories of content (inventory, marketing etc.), these correspond to the product categories already on LVL Up
  • You can customize your feed by adding/removing categories and changing their order
  • Subscribe to newsletter with insights and refined content from this data.
  • Fully indexed search to explore everything in the database, this is quite powerful
I got a lot of help and feedback from a bunch of people on here. @Jon Singo @joe.pistell @Mike@Carfeine especially. This is a foundation for a ton of cool new ways we can help everyone get the pulse of what's happening and see who's innovating.

Some news on this project!

I've spent the last several months rebuilding LVL Up from the ground up with one goal: to go headless. Meaning the whole thing is built to run inside your AI tools Claude, ChatGPT instead of being one more dashboard you have to log into and remember. To pull that off I had to rebuild the entire platform and get the data squeaky clean.

Where the data sits now:
  • 645 vendors
  • 2,686 products
  • 12,357 capabilities (features)
On top of that I added OEM certifications and innovation scoring across the board.

Getting your own stack in is fast: scan your website and it pulls your vendors straight from your site tags. You can do the exact same thing to your competitors and track them over time.

But here's the part I'm genuinely excited about, overlaying all of this with your own numbers.

Once you connect your AI, you can drop in a spreadsheet of your vendors and start layering on sales, leads, website data whatever you've got and review your metrics over time. Every product is mapped to 3 core KPI outcomes, so you can finally look at cost vs. the outcomes that vendor is actually supposed to be driving for you.

That kind of analysis used to take forever. Now it's seconds (and free).

Happy to answer anything in here and if you run a store, give it a scan and tell me where it's wrong. → lvlupauto.com

✨ AI Highlights

Jon Berna announces LVL Up Auto, a vendor management platform built specifically for car dealerships, walking through a series of feature releases including a searchable database of 645 auto vendors, contract and invoice tracking, vendor Collections for organizing and sharing vendor lists, peer collaboration via '20 Groups,' and an auto industry news aggregator. The thread culminates with a major architectural rebuild that makes the platform 'headless,' meaning dealership vendor data and 2,686 products with 12,357 mapped capabilities can be accessed directly inside AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT rather than as a standalone dashboard. The key insight is that all dealership-side tools are free, and the platform is evolving toward AI-native workflows that let dealers research, compare, and manage vendors without logging into yet another portal.
