manheim listed a tesla as a long range model (AS IS) when I received it, found out its Standard range. they clearly stated the car and anounced it as Long Range.
This definitely does not fall under the ASIS rule cause it is clear Misrepresentation of the model of the car. you can not claim a Mercedes for instance is AMG and sell it to me for twice the price of non AMG and call it as is no arbitration. there is a $4000 price differnce. cause they have control over the industry they refuse to compensate or Arbitrate. I thought the Term sleazy used car dealer was exaggerated and always conducted business with full honesty and never had a complaint against my company. what Manheim Auctions did in this as sleazy as it gets.I searched online and there was a comany that sued them and they ended up terminating their access to the auction in retaliation.

any feedback on this issue would be highly appreciated. i don;t care about teh $4k but I do about the principle. I've done business with them for 35 years and never had thos happen. It probably is an honest and careless mistake on there end, but it is their mistake and they should own up to it, however it seems arbitration is run by sleazy ppl.

A wrong trim listed as Long Range when it is Standard Range is not a normal AS IS issue, it is a material description error, and most auctions treat that as something they should review. You will need documentation that proves the listing claimed Long Range and proof from Tesla specs or the VIN decode that confirms it is Standard Range. If you have both, push for a second arbitration review through your rep or the regional manager because mistakes like this usually hinge on whether the listing was factually incorrect, not on AS IS language.

✨ AI Highlights

An independent dealer purchased a Tesla listed as "Long Range" at a Manheim auction but received a Standard Range model instead—a $4,000 difference—and claims Manheim's refusal to arbitrate constitutes misrepresentation that shouldn't fall under their "AS IS" policy. The dealer argues this is comparable to fraudulently selling a non-AMG Mercedes as an AMG model, and expresses frustration that Manheim's market dominance allows them to avoid accountability. The thread shows limited community engagement, with only supportive acknowledgment from a moderator but no substantive resolution or additional dealer insights posted.
