I have a dealer that is giving up DIY and is looking for a vendor to take over the inventory merchandising. I am shocked that I can't find a directory of vendors that do this work. I looked at DrivingSales. Anyone? Homenet has a Cert partner program, yet, I see no directory https://www.homenetauto.com/need-lot-services.asp I spent a few hours digging. Cars missing options are finally in the past. Right now, 20-50% of your inventory is missing options. It's a silent epidemic that impacts every single dealer. It's amazing how few people knew about this options list chaos (unless your a DR regular ;-). CarStory has built a solution and Car.com and DI have partnered with CS. Cars.com announced they'll include it for free on all used car listings. This is epic. Not only will it lower costs to create listings, it'll make every listing accurate AND letter perfect. This system solves another big problem, unstructured data where identical options have different names is no longer a problem. Finally, I can check this off the WTF list.
Fun Facts from a study by CarStory.ai >21k dealers and 1.62 million used cars for sale: >98% of car dealers have options errors on their VDPs. 36% of used cars have an options error. 8% of used inventory has an incorrect Trim Fix your errors free on Cars.com now! At NADA, Cars.com introduced a FREE new product to automatically post the perfect list of options to your VDP, they call it AutoCorrected. Cars.com TOS prevents them from changing your uploaded info, so, it requires you to opt-in. Call your cars.com rep, ask for a used inventory options audit (find out your score) and get your inventory fixed for free. HTH -Uncle Joe
