I'm having a little fun at Jim's expense - if he minds, I'm sure he'll let me know.

I came across this on facebook yesterday and I thought it was pretty funny:

This brings up a good point... does anyone know of an application or a way to extract email addresses from a CRM to search for customers on Facebook or Twitter?

Most CRM's have an export to excel feature. What were you thinking you could/would do with those email addresses?

If you are looking to get more followers or fans, I would recommend adding facebook/twitter links and or icons in your marketing emails or even make them a part of your signature. This way you allowing the customer to opt-in at their own discretion.

✨ AI Highlights

  • A user shares a humorous screenshot of someone named Jim (presumably "Ziegler") being locked out of Twitter, sparking a tangential discussion about extracting customer data from CRMs for social media targeting.
  • The thread's key insight is that Jeff Kershner recommends the opt-in approach—embedding social media links in marketing emails and signatures—rather than proactively mining customer data to follow them on social platforms.
