Facebook Live - Who's using? Tips and Tricks

I keep speaking with my GM about trying our hand at FB Live, but he's hesitant. He's not a FB user himself. He also doesn't want to be in front of the camera and I'm having a tough time getting the sales team interested either. Any advice on how to convince him to let me set up a FB Live campaign program and how to get the sales reps on board?

This is consistent across the board in the automotive space. Marketers can't do their job because the GMs don't understand digital. If the GMs understood, then it would be easy to get the salespeople involved.

It's really frustrating. That's why I'm moved towards training GMs in the digital space because they need to understand what is going on and where their head needs to be at. They are slowly going to be consumed by competitors who are going digital

✨ AI Highlights

Dealers discuss the viability of using Facebook Live for monthly incentive updates, with mixed opinions on audience size and effectiveness for typical dealerships (1,000-6,000 followers). Key recommendations include livestreaming on personal rather than business pages for better reach, ensuring content is newsworthy and relationship-building rather than routine lot tours, and leveraging email to drive viewers. A central frustration emerges: many GMs lack digital literacy and are reluctant to participate in video content themselves, creating a bottleneck that prevents sales teams from adopting these strategies despite their proven potential.
