What is this? Perhaps a gift from Google to new car OEMs?
Check out this cool search widget that guides shoppers down a buying path This is part of a number of category-inserts from Google, into both Google Search and Business Profiles, but the first we've seen with this treatment.
This should remind dealers to
inspect the OEM traffic that is being driven to their websites. About 5-10% of the new customers we take on for our Google Analytics reporting services, find that OEM links are either broken, or improperly implemented.
Many of you already know, OEM referral traffic is the only website traffic that rivals (or sometimes
beats) Google organic search traffic for shopper-quality and likelihood for true-conversion. And for Ford Motor Company and Stellantis North America dealers, the volume of monthly referral traffic to dealer websites is significant. It is also 10x the amount an average General Motors dealer might get. Why do GM dealers get so much less OEM website traffic? It is all about the OEM website design, and whether their goal is to harvest leads themselves, or channel the traffic to their network of dealer websites. We think the latter is a much better approach, allowing the dealer to share their brand message, and expose their digital retailing experience.
