What is this? Perhaps a gift from Google to new car OEMs?

Check out this cool search widget that guides shoppers down a buying path This is part of a number of category-inserts from Google, into both Google Search and Business Profiles, but the first we've seen with this treatment.

This should remind dealers to

inspect the OEM traffic that is being driven to their websites. About 5-10% of the new customers we take on for our Google Analytics reporting services, find that OEM links are either broken, or improperly implemented.

Many of you already know, OEM referral traffic is the only website traffic that rivals (or sometimes

beats) Google organic search traffic for shopper-quality and likelihood for true-conversion. And for Ford Motor Company and Stellantis North America dealers, the volume of monthly referral traffic to dealer websites is significant. It is also 10x the amount an average General Motors dealer might get. Why do GM dealers get so much less OEM website traffic? It is all about the OEM website design, and whether their goal is to harvest leads themselves, or channel the traffic to their network of dealer websites. We think the latter is a much better approach, allowing the dealer to share their brand message, and expose their digital retailing experience.

How long before Google's Vehicle Listing Ads push this out of the way? Google is going to choose a paid ad unit over an organic one all day long.

Regarding Grow Business Pages(formerly Google My Business), Google announced a beta for those interested in, 'Cars for Sale.' If you are interested, please visit this official Google Form below:

If you would like more information, please consult this particular Google Developer Support page: https://developers.google.com/cars-for-sale

If you are interested in free Grow services, you can direct message me. As mentioned in a previous post, my creative agency, Curations, serves in only a volunteer capacity with the Grow Team. Thus, we can provide complimentary services only if those services, however, pertain to your Grow Business Page. In certain cases, we can assist with expedited verification as opposed to one having to wait via USPS 5-7 days for a postcard.

Curations does assist small-to-medium sized businesses in the realms of digital marketing, design and development. We are a nonprofit and hold ourselves accountable by doing the next right thing.

I hope that this helps those dealers herein, will likely peruse this message board further to see if I can address any additional questions without too much of a plug to Curations. Promise that! Sure, it would be great for business at Curations, but the main purpose of this particular post was to showcase the Cars for Business post that anybody can sign up for, straight from Google.

There are several pieces of legislation pending which would prevent big tech companies like Google to favor their own services over competitors. These really need to pass to stop these big companies from using their monstrous leverage to crush smaller players.

Hard agree. If Google can optimize that experience to increase clicks on their product it won't be long before 3rd party sites become a moot point.
