Jeep Mechanical Failure - Time To Trade - What Would You Buy?

That sucks Brian. But HEY, you got 19K miles out of it. And it's a Jeep. What more can you ask for anymore?

"what brand would you trust to actually make it 150k miles?" - that's seriously a tough question to answer anymore. A question I'm not sure how to answer because I'm not sure there's anything NEW being built in 2026 I would trust to make it to 150K miles, without breaking the bank at-least. . There would have been a time not too long ago I would have said... "get yourself a Camry, RAV4 or 4 Runner" anyTHING with a Toyota or Lexus badge.

If you go back a bit further in years, I would include Honda and Subaru in the mix. I've even see plenty of older Hyundai's and Nissans hit the 150K mark.

I'm sure many would still (in 2026) recommend anyTHING with a Toyota or Lexus badge on it and it may still be your best bet.

If you want to keep it on the Domestic side, maybe consider a BUICK.

My 2000 Mercedes-Benz C230 Sport has just over 120K miles on it and other than normal maintenance, it has cost me very little to keep it on the road. It ride and drive quality is FANTASTIC. It continues to drive like an older Mercedes-Benz and unless you have owned an older Benz, don't will not know what I'm talking about.

I also own a 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 Cab with 130K miles on it and it too has that Mercedes-Benz ride and drive quality. It too has cost very little to keep it maintained and running like a champ.

I've had several older VW's from the 80's and early 90's that racked up several hundred thousand miles on them. My daughters Ford Ranger 4.0L has over 200K miles on it.

I know none of this helps with your question, I just wanted to point out how great older vehicles are/were.
