The search function on DealerRefresh has been the worst of any search I've ever used. It was worse than an AOL search after dialing up on a 14K modem. The results were so bad that it felt like you were punched in the face with stupidity. Siri gave better results.
It is fixed!
We built it from the ground up using an open-source indexer that lets you search for short terms like "CRM" (the old search required at least 4 characters). And it can take very broad results as well. The logic is that it seeks results closest to the keywords and also supplies other combinations to broaden the results. It caches results to make faster returns on common searches. When it is a new search, it falls back to Claude Haiku to apply some AI logic.
It is all new and completely our code. If you see anything odd or have ways to improve it, post here. I'm sure it isn't perfect, but I guarantee it beats the snot out of the old dog poop system we used to have (AKA default Xenforo search).
