SEO Link Thread

Ok, so i did a test recently. I built a site, only wrote a home page but properly placed the keywords. I linked to it from about 12 sites good sites. I no indexed the site prior to linking it and before it was indexed. It showed on page 1 for its respective search and was actually #4 or 5. I took the no follow off and allowed the search engines to index my meta description and seo work and it disappeared for 3 days and came back at #3.

So my theory is Links are not dead and probably never will be. Google is smart but they rely on us to tell them what content is important.

Why don't we use this thread to better the car business for the smart dealers. You can post your link and keyword below. Other dealers will do the same. Once you post it you link to whom ever links to you. Choose your keyword wisely.

Check your domain to see if you use the www version of the non www version and reflect that in the link above. I can give more details on this if you would like.

Not sure if this will work but my theory is if you just have a little valuable content and some good links you will rank better.

What dealers are willing to participate? Are you willing to link to other dealerships? Are you willing to get links from dealerships?

I like the idea but I'm not in charge of that at my new dealer group. Sounds mutually beneficial.

A few of us banded together to try this out a while ago. It fell apart because of two reasons:

1. Our program was a little too complex for most to follow
2. People got sidetracked on other things...as is the case with most team deals that don't report to a manager.

I like where you're going with this Ryan, but what is the reward system? Dealers are always quid pro quo.

Links are definitely not dead. Google might frown on this activity...it resembles a link farm.

Link building is a pretty general term used to describe anything you do to build links to a website. There are two primary reasons to build links; Direct Click-Through Traffic, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). On this site we are focused on the Search Engine Optimization aspect of link building. While the goal of most search engine optimization campaigns is to build traffic, the goal of SEO based link building is higher rankings.
This is important to keep in mind. There are some links that are good for traffic, there are some good for SEO, and there are some good for both. Links that provide both traffic and a rankings boost in the search engines are obviously great, but it is important to realize that just because a link gets good traffic, it doesnt mean that it is good for SEO.
