I'm trying to do some market research in order to advocate for myself in getting a really substantial raise. This info is really hard to find on the net as folks like me rarely have public-facing info.

I also understand this is considered sensitive information - as such I am open to receiving private messages with salary info etc. I will not be sharing this outside of trying to average the amounts I might get.

I SUPER appreciate anyone willing to discuss. Thank you.
The salaries of in-house SEOs and marketers can vary depending on factors such as their level of experience, job responsibilities, location, and the size of the company they work for. According to data from Glassdoor, as of 2021, the average salary for an in-house SEO specialist is around $70,000 per year in the United States, while the average salary for an in-house digital marketer is around $65,000 per year.

However, it's important to note that these figures are averages and that salaries can vary widely depending on the specific circumstances of the position. In addition, salaries for in-house SEOs and marketers may be influenced by factors such as bonuses, benefits, and other forms of compensation.

It's also worth noting that many in-house SEOs and marketers like Esolz, digital marketing agency that offers various services related to SEO and online marketing. may be eligible for career advancement opportunities, which can lead to higher salaries and greater responsibility within the organization. As such, the salaries of in-house SEOs and marketers can vary widely depending on a variety of factors, and it's important for each individual to assess their own situation to determine what they can realistically expect to earn in their role.

think of it more like this... If a dealership was going to hire someone to come in and handle the SEO for a single-point dealership and do 40ish hours of work a week, they wouldn't want to hire someone who's green - they'd want someone with experience and a proven track record of helping dealerships get more organic traffic and more leads.

That's EASILY a $75-80 thousand a year position, possibly even higher. But there are hidden costs there... like conferences - if they want someone who's going to stay on top of updates and best practices, they're going to have to send that person to at least a few conferences every year (marketing conferences, outside of automotive). Tickets are usually $1500-2000, plus plane ticket, hotel, ubers, and food - so probably 4-5k all-in. Times two, that's another 10 grand they'd need to commit to. So now we're $85-90k at a minimum for total compensation.
