What's the most annoying thing on your website?

Depends on who you ask! While there is an advantage to quality, quantity gives you the opportunity to market to more of them down the road. You may not land the sale, but that doesn't mean you can't snag them for service down the road.

    Dreamweaver question

PHP is your friend! I've stopped using Dreamweaver years ago and have turned into a Sublime Text junkie. You can also setup a simulated server on your PC using WAMP, and put the paths in there, using your windows Hosts file to redirect to your live WAMP directory

Online marketing & management is easy right?

Strange that it re-sized that way and didn't link to the original. Anyways thanks for finding and linking the original, looks like I'll have to do that in the future.

    SEM Bounce rate?

As Jason said there are alot of factors. I begin to look for problems and issues if a bounce rate is above 25% for overall average. Specific campaigns will throw that once in a while. As for CPC, I aim to keep that at 20% or lower preferably around 15% If you have a high bounce rate on your...

Online marketing & management is easy right?

I bumped into the awesome quasi infographic today showing the complexities of the digital world today. It's not industry tailored for dealerships, but thought it was worth sharing! Enjoy!

The start of a review and maybe social vendor cleanup?

I've poked around a bit and there's no additional info out there yet. I am sure the reviews have been removed. The dealers may or may not be the victim's here so I couldn't imagine them being penalized, however I would believe that their reviews will be closely watched in the future...

The start of a review and maybe social vendor cleanup?

I completely agree! The market became supersaturated a long time ago! I think over the next year or two we are going to see some substantial changes in the industry and a desaturated vendor market will be one of them. The past 2 years has been very contractual & acquisition heavy at a...

The start of a review and maybe social vendor cleanup?

We've all seen the traps that dealers have fallen into with these companies and their deceptive marketing/practices. I hope this article and judgement not only serves as a warning to misleading fly by night vendors but cleans them up as well! Congratulations Edmunds! Edmunds.com Settles...

    Autotrader to add Dealership Reviews

Has anyone done a survey on sold customers to see if online reviews actually have any influence on the customers buying decision? I have seen a lot of Autotrader sourcing studies and the majority source 85%+ under the following 4 reasons 1.) Price / Deal 2.) Past Customer 3.) Referral 4.)...

A new SEM Tool.. Seems kind of iffy to me

Wow! Using that company is the equivalent of hiring ninjas to sneak into peoples houses and hang your advertisement on their living room wall! As all have said before me, stay away!

Best day and time for an email campaign?

There are many articles out there where studies have been, typically Tue-Thurs are pretty safe bets without doing much research. If you want to drill down a bit further take a look at your analytics and see what days of the week and what hours of the days are the most active. Sending during...

SEO vs SOCIAL MEDIA - which one ?

Everyone should take a look at their Google Analytics before answering this question. Look at your overall traffic, then look at your Google / Organic traffic, filter out keywords that contain your dealer name (because you will rank for those regardless if you do SEO or not), and see how you...

Anyone know of a good online payment calculator

Hi Tarry! Great to see you as part of the conversation! We are still using the product, going on month 3 now I believe we went live mid April. You are correct, it did generate a good number of leads, but at the same time, other types of leads have decreased (Get e-Price, Confirm...

Anyone know of a good online payment calculator

Unfortunately I am not very familiar with DDC and it's limitations. If they don't offer any type of direct integration with an A/B Testing tool you may be able to setup some clever Analytics Goalsets and tweak things around to get an idea of what works the ol' fashioned manual way. Not ideal...

Anyone know of a good online payment calculator

One of our stores wanted to try out "Drive It Now" and they have been using it for a little over a month. I have not noticed any substantial change in leads generated vs the Get e-Price button that was there. This isn't to say that you won't experience different results based on your market...

    Re-targeting and Cars.com version of Re-targeting

Hi Rock, thanks for chiming in and clarifying the networks that you will be serving the ads on. Do you by chance have an example results report that dealers will receive? And what power would dealers have over their campaigns? Could we for example eliminate sites which our ads show on...

    Re-targeting and Cars.com version of Re-targeting

I am not sure if you added an extra number on the clicks or left one off the impressions? 33,563/93 = 0.277% CTR not .002% Here is my approach: I only use 300x250 and 160x600 and disable visibility mobile devices. (My past numbers have shown those are the best performing sizes so I...

    Re-targeting and Cars.com version of Re-targeting

The banners are not on cars.com. They are across an ad network displayed to users that have visited cars.com and searched for a vehicle. I would look into adjusting creative if you're only getting a CTR of .07 to .03 seems extremely low.

    Website Conversion Counting

I did see some of the other ones, but nothing was recent. I've always found it bad forum etiquette to resurrect old material. If I missed a current one my apologies, feel free to close the thread.

    Website Conversion Counting

How is everyone tracking website conversions? I have been on the fence about using a few different techniques. Here are a few things that I am considering using to factor some more realistic results. 1.) Excluding all unique visitors that have NOT been been on SRP or VDP. 2.) Track the time on...
