Creative use of Car Pics.

When I was in charge of merchandising used vehicles at a semi-niche store I would use the blank top left & right margins to place banners highlighting features / accessories of specific units and always had higher than average VDP's. I'll look back and see if I have any examples. Not quite the same idea / appearance of having people pose like the images above though.

✨ AI Highlights

Joe Pistell opens a discussion on using creative vehicle photography — adding people and bold titles — to boost click-through rates on search results pages, drawing inspiration from social media tactics. The thread branches into image format debates (JPG vs PNG vs WebP), the inadequacy of low-resolution and small-dimension car photos, and why VDPs lag far behind electronics retailers in data richness. A late contribution from Pistell provides concrete data showing fully photographed units earn 8.5 median VDP views per day versus just 0.3–1.0 for photo-pending units, making a strong case for prioritizing high-quality photos on new arrivals immediately.
