CenturyLink, a third-party internet provider that services one of Dealer.com’s Data Centers, is experiencing intermittent network issues impacting companies and consumers nationwide, including Dealer.com and other Cox Automotive properties. This began on Thursday, December 27, and continues this morning.
This issue resulted in brief and sporadic page load failures for some client websites.
CenturyLink has notified us that they have identified the cause of the issue, and as of 10AM Friday, December 28, are making progress toward a resolution.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and are ready to move clients to our backup systems if the situation worsens. Once we are given the all-clear, we will proactively communicate a more detailed explanation of impacts.
