DealerRefresh Roadmap - taking requests

1780700047705.png

We now have our own Showroom. A fresh coat of wax on our top 100 posters by volume, our sponsors and what the benefits of being a member are.

I have plans to redesign the look and feel of the awards page. I will make a fresh post about the Best of the Best because that was such a good idea by @joe.pistell it warrants more eyeballs. We also have more ideas for it.

My 2nd favorite part of this is the Sponsor Spotlight. It is fully connected to our new Sponsor Management System. It is so cool to watch the automations from taking a lead to a full sponsor and see them appear on this page. This isn't something I can share publicly, but as someone who loves building CRM-type systems this is soooooo much better.

And oh yeah, do I now have some cool ideas for building another CRM... maybe one day ;)

SWEET additions @Alex Snyder !!

This Best of the Best feature really highlights the many OG's that have CONTINUED to participate over the years. I'm also seeing several OG's that ARE still in the business but participate very little, if at all. SHAME!! Like any long standing forum, there's peak and valleys for traffic and engagement. With these changes we are already experiencing a HUGE peak. Maybe some of these OG's that no longer participate will find their way back to the OG of dealer forums. :woot:

Sponsor Spotlight is a HUGE upgrade for our sponsors. It's obvious you've been tapping into your abilities and experience building out CRM/CMS. Before you're done, DealerRefresh will be a turnkey marketing platform for industry vendors. Hummmm :thinker:

I am not an OG. Largely because of my sporadic engagement using different email handles and low content contributions over the years with different companies. That said, I’m here to contribute… thoughts, prayers, and hopefully value here and there… would be good to build in some additional “core brain” alerts for users that are contributing to the forums on where they can add value.

Ok I’ll stop now and go back to the kids table … also emojis no longer render in content

Give me some more on this "core brain" idea. I think I get what you're saying, but I can take a little more detail.

I noticed the emojis aren't playing as nicely as they did before. They're also looking a little dated. I have some big AWS work coming. Hoping that will help a little.

Also, considering modernizing the emoji.

Happy to catch up anytime but it should be fairly easy to get Claude (or similar) to monitor the forums and look at profiles that typically add value to the context of a conversation… send an alert to get them engaged etc. likely some fine tuning work but should be fairly low lift.

Ah. I gotcha now.

My personal challenge has always been: if you build it with AI, how can you build it so that it doesn't need AI to exist later?

We have a few small features that cannot live without AI now (Thread summaries and Weekly summation on the home page), but this one is going to give me a challenge to see if it can live without AI... if it weren't Friday night, I'd have a better thought on this front.

Not an original idea but damn do i miss going to drivingSales and seeing who's in the game when I need ___________ or someone visits NADA or Digital Dealer and now we need ALL NEW ____________.

It was nice to be able to pump the brakes, find a handful of options, short list a pack of demos and get a feel before calling or really knowing much of anything except for a bit of reputation.

✨ AI Highlights

Alex Snyder outlines DealerRefresh's development roadmap and invites member feature requests, sharing completed work including a newsletter system, sponsor management CRM, contextual ad server, and a new Showroom page highlighting top posters and sponsors. A notable exchange emerges around using AI to alert high-value members when their expertise is relevant to active threads, with Alex weighing the idea against his principle of not building features that can't survive without AI. A member also surfaces nostalgia for DrivingSales-style vendor discovery tools, hinting at an opportunity for DealerRefresh to fill that gap.
