I won't promote my company/product as I understand that's against the rules. However I do have a question that I was hoping this was the right place to ask.
I'm a small business owner. Our product is something I believe would do well as an upsell to used vehicle buyers during the F&I process.
We normally sell our product direct to consumer, but this would be an upgraded version tailored specifically for this scenario.
I'm planning to approach dealers and pitch them the idea. The ideal dealer would be large enough for a meaningful pilot program, but not so large that adding a product to their menu is a cumbersome, corporate-like process.
The product would be priced at $99, and we'd pay half of that to be split between the dealer and the F&I manager. It wouldn't require any inventory to be stocked, or any installation. We're an established business with a legal entity, insurance, and so on.
I’m hoping to get some insights if you would all be so kind. What’s the best way to approach dealers and start this discussion? To be successful, what do you see the process looking like?
Thank you in advance for any guidance. I'd really like to make this work for dealers. How to go about that is something I'm hoping to learn here.
