Six Predictions That Will Impact Automotive Retail in 2014

From car sharing to how websites will be designed the changes that will happen in 2014 will be huge - and, possibly confusing if you're ill prepared.

Take time today to read up on Eric Miltsch's 6 Automotive Predictions for 2014.

Questions:
Which one do you think will make the biggest impact?
What are you doing at your dealership to prepare for a bigger and better 2014?
Did we miss any predictions?

1 and 2 will no doubt have the most significant impact. With Google's ever changing algorithms and strategies to insure they deliver the best user experience business's especially the Auto Industry need to stay ahead of the curve. In technology if you are even slightly behind the curve you are missing the boat.

I predict the Internet department will peak in 2014 and begin to decline as more dealers figure out that the shopper isn't riding the Up Bus anymore. The Internet department will become the floor staff.

The only thing holding this back is Senior Managers/ Dealers protecting a few "favorites" that are unwilling to adapt to the times or learn new skills. In many cases starting a dealership from scratch would prove to be the fastest way to having a 100% wired sales team.
(By wired I mean Internet proficient, not what you are thinking LOL)

BTW, Happy New Year Alex! :banana2:
