Curious how everyone here keeps up with automotive industry news.

Between OEM announcements, recalls, tariffs, EV updates, dealership technology, inventory trends, and finance news, I found myself checking way too many different sites every day.

I ended up building a simple daily news digest that pulls together the biggest automotive headlines in one place:
https://autointel.news

I'm not trying to replace the original publications—just make it easier to find the stories worth reading.

Would love to hear what sources everyone else relies on and what topics you'd want to see covered.

Don’t spam here. This site ain’t the one, chief.
I love that you're helping us out on the spam gates!!! Thank you so much, @Rob (y)(y)

In this case, Jon reached out to Jeff and me ahead of time, and I gave him the go-ahead to post this. It would be cool if we had better news curation in the industry.

With that said, I don't care for all the new vehicle updates. There is already so much of that to see - it is the most covered thing in our industry because that's what the consumer wants. I do care about some of them, but I don't subscribe to any of those anymore.

I care about what's happening inside the retail process and service sides of our industry. CarDealershipGuy used to be a great source for that. But it's gotten too obvious that he's chasing the money, not the story. I rarely find something in his newsletter interesting these days.

Do you know of other sources that are diving deeper into the dealership?

Thanks, Alex — and I really appreciate you and Jeff giving me the green light ahead of time. I definitely don't want AutoIntel to become another stream of new-vehicle updates. There’s already plenty of that out there.

One of the things I’m trying to do with AutoIntel is curate across the industry and surface the stories that are easier to miss — particularly what’s happening inside dealerships, retail, fixed ops, technology, OEM/dealer relationships, and the broader business side of automotive.

Your point about CarDealershipGuy is actually helpful feedback. I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between simply aggregating automotive news and actually finding the stories that are useful to people working in the industry.

As for deeper dealership sources, I have a few on my radar, but I’d also be very interested in hearing which ones you and others here think are doing the best job today. That would help me make sure I’m looking in the right places.

Appreciate the feedback — this is exactly the kind of perspective I was hoping to get by sharing AutoIntel here.

It is—thank you, Jeff. And thanks again to you and the team for letting me share the link here.

I’ve continued working on the site, and it now has a dedicated Dealer section in the top-level navigation. AutoIntel scans its sources each day and displays any fresh articles related to dealership operations. If none of the dealer sources has published anything new within the last 36 hours, the section simply says so rather than filling the page with older stories.

Today’s featured story is actually from CBT News, so dealer-operations coverage is making it into the broader site as well.

If you have a moment to check it out, I’d genuinely appreciate your opinion on whether this could be useful to dealers and others working in automotive retail.

I’m also prototyping a weekly intelligence report that will analyze everything collected during the week, build a history over time, and look for trends or developing signals that might otherwise get lost in the daily tidal wave of automotive news. It will also produce an audio version in the form of a short weekly podcast.

Still plenty more to come, but it’s definitely working out—and continuing to grow.

✨ AI Highlights

A dealer community member introduced AutoIntel, a daily automotive news digest he built to consolidate industry headlines in one place, after finding himself juggling too many sources. Moderator Alex Snyder confirmed the post was pre-approved and offered useful directional feedback: the industry is already saturated with new-vehicle content, and what's genuinely needed is better coverage of retail operations, fixed ops, and the business side of dealerships. The creator responded by adding a dedicated Dealer section to the site and is prototyping a weekly intelligence report aimed at industry professionals.
