Vauto cheese: Is it to cheesy

We used to use the Autowriter tool and eventually moved to just custom writing all comments on both new and used. When we did use the Autowriter tool I would use the low fat cheese! I would even customize that with some of our own. Hence the reason why we just started writing our own.

I will say that if you do not have the ability then it is a great tool. I think the less cheezier and the more to the point with good info the better. Too much cheese and I think the customer my pass right over it.

We use a modified cheese, cut and paste some from vAuto, a little from an online review site....(Google some up i can't give up everything) mixed in with some vehicle specific info like the repair order etc....written in by our on site Graphic Artist/Photo Taker/ Wanna be BMX kid.

My personal opinion is full blown cheese is better than no comments.......but I like my cheese in moderation.

Dealers debate whether Vauto's auto-generated inventory comments are too over-the-top and cheesy, with opinions split between those who find any comments valuable for time-constrained dealerships and those who prefer more concise, fact-based descriptions. The consensus that emerges is that the "cheese" tool works best as a starting point that dealers should customize by removing excessive exclamation points and corny language while keeping substantive details (trim, options, condition) that differentiate vehicles and appeal to specific buyer segments. Several successful approaches mentioned include having salespeople write custom comments with manager review, using the low-cheese setting and editing it further, or hiring in-house creative writers when resources allow.
