What's the best way to get my inventory on Facebook marketplace?

Good question, and the answer is less obvious than it should be. From what we’ve seen building in this space, there are basically three routes:

  1. Post by hand. Free, but it eats a rep’s time, and the posts go stale. Prices change and sold units stay up unless someone remembers to fix them.
  2. A direct inventory feed. Meta only takes direct vehicle feeds through approved partners, so this mostly comes through bigger platforms, not something you can just turn on yourself.
  3. Assisted posting tools. This is what TJ is describing: software that posts from a real person’s account, the same way a rep would by hand. It’s fast and works today. Go in knowing it still runs through someone’s personal profile, so keep the pace reasonable.

Whichever route you pick, the part people underestimate is keeping the listings in sync. Price drops and sold cars need to come down too, or you end up with the advertised-price problem carguyfiles raised in the Greenway thread.

Disclosure: I work on GarageBIRDS, which does the assisted kind of posting as part of a dealer management system for independent lots. Happy to answer questions either way. How many units are you trying to keep up?

+1 to Brian on AIAs. That's Meta's approved route for putting a whole inventory in front of buyers, with the catch that they're paid ads rather than free listings.

One correction to my post above: I lumped our tool in with ones that post for you, and it doesn't. The GARAGEBIRDS Posting Assistant lays out the listing from the car's record in the DMS (details and asking price) and downloads the photos you pick; the rep pastes it into Facebook's own form from their own login. Tools that fill in and submit the form for you are a different thing. Meta's terms don't allow accessing Facebook by automated means without their permission, so those carry account risk at any pace.
