Your Leads Are Duplicating on DDC - Just So Ya Know...

Just so ya know.......

If you are a DDC customer, next time you call into support please ask for an update on case 09518629.......why you might ask?

Because any time a customer on your website submits a DDC form lead they are sent to a confirmation page. Nothing unusual there.....BUT if that user does not navigate away from the /contact-form-confirm.htm page and the website reloads that page - it submits a duplicate of the lead they just submitted.

Raise your hand if you have more than one tab open in your Mobile browser right now? ‍♂️ ‍♂️ Guess what? If one of those is your /contact-form-confirm.htm page, when ever that site recaches or page reloads a new (duplicate) form lead just got sent to your CRM or you Service appointment coordinators who are now going to call Mr. Grumpass to setup an appointment even though he came in 3 days ago.....oh...yea...its also been an issue with the blackhole of any digital company - engineering department - since June 2020.....

....and now ya know.

Still a Kool-aide drinker but its things like this that bug the sh#t out of me.
 
Easy solution to this one (that almost everyone does?) is to generate a unique code on the form load.
When submitted, a lead cannot have the same unique code as any other lead.
So, when that page refreshes and sends the data again, the ID is the same and it ignores the duplicate lead.
