One of our stores just switched their inventory management provider to Dealer Specialties. We updated all of our vendors with no problem. Just got a phone call from Cobalt though... they need a "$100 setup fee" to make the change. How come they are the only site that we changed the inventory feed to that needs money to do it???

I tell you, I don't miss Cobalt's billing one bit! The only things I miss about Cobalt are my account advocates that really cared and took the time to try to work around Cobalt's limitations and the "managed specials" that I could apply to all models at one time. Not able to do that with my current site provider- yet.
I definitely suggest asking for a refund and an exception if you've been a customer for a long time and also do the frame-in if you're able to...I know that GM locks down the frame-ins for inventory.

A dealer expressed frustration that Cobalt is charging a $100 setup fee to update their inventory feed after switching providers, while no other vendors impose such charges. The community consensus is that this fee is unjustified and reflects Cobalt's problematic billing practices, with users recommending dealers either push back for a refund/exception or bypass Cobalt altogether by using the Dealer Specialties frame-in option. While some acknowledged Cobalt's quality account advocates and features, the widespread nickel-and-diming approach was criticized as poor business practice.
