Uncle Joe's Makeover Diary 2.0

No surprise, Carvana has it figured out. They continue to be way ahead of everyone else on vehicle merchandising.

Ryan,
100% agreed. Carvana and CarMax enjoy an incredibly tight loop of business operations and engineering, where the platform leaders have their instant feedback right from the sales floor, right from the call center. They have full visibility into internal KPIs and can iterate at light speed.

Our incredibly fragmented, isolated cube-dwelling web vendors are still trying to figure out how to generate more leads.

Garcia, the CEO of Carvana, is 10q's talks about sales productivity as the hallmark of a great website: call counts going down, time on call going down, all the while sales are increasing 40% year-over-year and our incredibly fragmented, isolated cube-dwelling web vendors are still trying to figure out how to generate more leads.

DR army,
I am looking for a normalized YMMT library that is in the public domain, or, avail for a small fee. A highly vetted output is preferred.
This should be pretty easy for USA, but we are currently trying to do this overseas where there are 65 Chinese brands in the market - oof.

Have you checked to see if the free databases from NHTSA will work? I would assume between that and freely available registration records you could AI down to a set of unique values pretty easily.

EEEK!

lol. Actually, the data is all around, but, highly vetted output is what I am creating and I am fishing for one's that is pre-built.

#NotMadeYet

I am building a YMMT map for SRP Filters vs YMMTS SRP/VDP Title.
Example:
YMMT map for SRP Filters: 2023 Chevy Equinox [trim]
YMMTS SRP/VDP Titles: 2023 Chevy Equinox [trim] [series]

Don't we have a player in auto that built an 'automotive wiki'?

✨ AI Highlights

Joe Pistell, formerly of Cars.com, returns to automotive digital retail experimentation and shares early work on vehicle merchandising and SRP/VDP optimization. The thread highlights how Carvana and CarMax outpace traditional dealers by tightly integrating operations with engineering for rapid iteration, while fragmented vendor ecosystems lag behind chasing leads. Pistell also crowdsources a normalized YMMT data library for SEO title mapping and lands on Wikimotive as a promising resource.
