AI SEO or GEO building ideas

JK,
I'm building a twist to this theme, hopefully beta soon. Love to ping you and talk about this to run a test on your site when we're ready.

My Take:
AutoMagic Labs looks at GEO thru the 'task assistance' lens.
We know that an AI shopping assistant's mission is to
deliver choices that stand out to the end user (the car shopper).

We're building an AIX (AI Experience) with the intent to make the AI Assistant look smart(er).
AutoMagic Labs is building the machine-to-machine future and the biggest winners are car dealers.
This is the tip of a very deep iceberg.

As AI expands, we are having more and more clients sign up to get LLM.TXT files installed and maintained on their sites. Here is a brief summary of what it is and how it works:

What it is: LLM.TXT Files

What does it do? The main goal of the LLM.TXT files is to assist with content discovery. Similar to the website's sitemap showing Google different pages, we are mapping all your content to LLM tools to help improve placement and rankings in AI and SEO simultaneously.

Why is it important?: As more consumers are going to AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini for information, it is important that you provide the most updated and relevant information.
There is no widely adopted standard called llm.txt.

Not by:
  1. OpenAI
  2. Google
  3. Anthropic
  4. Microsoft
None of them require or officially support llm.txt.

The concept came from developers, SEO's and companies looking to make a fast buck off their clients, I personally wouldn't trust anything they said after they tried to pull that...
LLMs rely on:
  • training data
  • search engines
  • APIs
  • retrieval systems
  • structured content
Not random files.

AI systems like:
  1. ChatGPT
  2. Gemini
Do NOT Rank websites the way search engines do!

I'm open to being wrong, drop a link to my post and tell them to prove me wrong ...

So let me get this right. You're building an Ai experience on the website so when Ai comes to your website it interacts with it?

schema

You find the keyword gap strategy is still as strong as it was a few years ago?
Yes but Not because of keywords, Because of topic coverage.

Modern search engines and AI models look for topical authority.

Which means:

A site covering 100 connected questions will outrank a site covering 5 isolated keywords. The real strategy now is topic gaps, not keyword gaps. You create a knowledge network that is designed to feed the AI's.

Yes.
Websites are build for humans. AI is an intelligent machine that has a mission (created by its user). AI acts on behalf of it's user's mission.

DJ nailed the spec:

he real strategy now is topic gaps, not keyword gaps. You create a knowledge network that is designed to feed the AI's.

This email from our current Marketing Agency hit my inbox a few moment ago:

Hi Jeff,

As AI expands, we are having more and more clients sign up to get LLM.TXT files installed and maintained on their sites. Here is a brief summary of what it is and how it works:

Why doesn’t my website show up in AI searches?

What it is: LLM.TXT Files

What does it do? The main goal of the LLM.TXT files is to assist with content discovery. Similar to the website's sitemap showing Google different pages, we are mapping all your content to LLM tools to help improve placement and rankings in AI and SEO simultaneously.

We can create, install, and maintain these for you for $300/mo. Let me know your thoughts and if you're interested.

Thanks,

I'll keep our agencies name out of it for now.

I'm still wrapping my head around keeping myself updated and educated on Ai so I'm not sure how important these LLM.TXT files really are.

This takes me back 20+ years ago when those pretty Adobe FLASH websites were being introduced. The Search engines struggled to index Adobe FLASH so agencies would KEYWORD STUFF their dealer websites OR install some keyword stuffed file into the script.

What you all think?
Have at it!!
@Jeff Kershner if the agency is selling you on a file fixing all your problems it’s a bunch of smoke. LLMs.txt is a thing but to @Ryan Everson earlier post it’s only a piece of a much broader MCP and trigger automation environment that leading agencies and marketing teams are starting to build in. All important pieces if orchestration is done right… and if your website provider isn’t trying to actively block LLMs from your site in the first place… which is common right now in auto.

First things first - confirm your site isn’t actively attempting to block LLM traffic/confirm your site and blog sitemaps are up to date, you are regularly publishing, and that your website provider doesn’t have NOINDEX/NOFOLLOW on your blog. (We see this all the time)

Does LLMs.txt matter? - it’s still early but directionally yes.
Should it be on your site? - probably
Should you pay for it monthly? - NO

Does Hrizn give you the guides to do this for free in minutes? - Yes… and lots of other stuff.

Here’s the deets and how to install LLMs.txt - llms.txt for Dealerships: Guide Your AI Visibility | Hrizn

For anyone geeking out on event triggered content orchestration - the Hrizn Public API can be explored here - Hrizn Public API - Hrizn API Documentation

As we transition from decades-old Google search results to a new era of exact-response queries, I wanted to start this thread on strategies to ensure you are included in AI responses.

Digital Dealer did a pretty good 101 explanation of what this means. Dealer Authority started a thread about this, too. This is a strategy thread.

Are you writing more blog articles? Putting more into forums and/or Reddit? What are some ideas for this?
@Alex Snyder we have a fairly significant library of free resources here - Dealership Marketing Resources - GEO, SEO & AI Search Guides | Hrizn

Free to everyone. Welcome your feedback or suggestions for additional helpful tools/guides.

Happy Building!
