Have you heard about Apple's latest update for iOS14? Most likely you have, but if you haven't, I'll give you the elevator version:
Apple's privacy settings will impact the audiences to which dealers can target their ads once iOS14 is live. iPhone users can opt-out of apps (like Facebook's) tracking capabilities. This change will significantly drop the audience sizes in Facebook as users opt-out and therefore impact the reach and targeting of Facebook ads.

But there is a solution - third-party data.

Dealer Authority has had a partnership with a third-party data provider since 2018 and continues to see tremendous benefits to our dealer’s Facebook campaigns. We are confident that this software update will not have a notable impact on the standard campaigns running with third-party data.

TabFlythe explains how Apple's iOS 14 privacy update will limit Facebook's tracking capabilities and reduce ad targeting audiences for dealers, but presents third-party data as a solution that Dealer Authority has successfully used since 2018. The thread is brief with mostly lighthearted exchanges about device compatibility and tangential Apple privacy videos, offering little additional discussion or debate beyond the initial premise.
