In your opinion, where is the biggest gap in today's CDPs?

But the Cox/Fullpath merger may change how that looks. Well on the front side at least, we all know the back side will just be spaghetti code nightmare crossing paths

Weeeeeell.... that assumes Cox actually merges the software and the core FullPath people hang around the FullPath product. Neither has been demonstrated in Cox's history.

RIGHT!

I was honestly shocked they haven't shut down the Israeli dev team yet. Time will tell.
That would be a mistake because those guys ship nonstop!

Name another automotive vendor with a feature release changelog that's updated almost weekly with new functionality. Most are lucky to have one overhyped feature release a year that they save for NADA.

Are the large players in this space building their own walled gardens? Will this help or hinder at the dealer level? I could be wrong but I am pretty sure Cox hasn't and probably can't integrate all of their solutions beyond an API currently.
I believe the value proposition of the CDP is allowing dealers to be proactive. unlocking the insights, allows dealers to become as efficient as possible with their investments.

Watch the Widewail interview around AI assistants and the data they are ingesting.
Did you catch the Gemini updates?
Steallantis's new rules?
The FTC .....
You have increased scrutiny from the govt, OEM's and search engines on the bottom of the funnel where dealers spend the majority of their dry powder trying to move the needle.
You will need to truly understand your metrics before you can pivot to offense. The dealers that start to dive into the lost opportunity cost will set themselves apart in the future.

✨ AI Highlights

The thread asks where the biggest gaps in today's automotive CDPs are, and the discussion quickly centers on fragmentation — CDPs still require dealers to stitch together DMS, CRM, IMS, marketing, and website data from separate systems. The Cox/Fullpath acquisition draws skepticism from veterans who doubt Cox will truly integrate the platforms or retain the FullPath development team, while others note FullPath's unusually fast shipping pace as a reason for optimism. A broader concern emerges around walled gardens, regulatory pressure from the FTC and OEMs, and the need for dealers to genuinely understand their data as AI and scrutiny at the bottom of the funnel intensify.
