JUST A HEADS UP - Today at 12PM EST

We release all of our names to the public!

If you are in search of a useful, memorable URL to use or resell down the road a .DEALER Domains might work for you.

The absolute lowest priced registrars right now are WWW.NAME.COM and WWW.GANDI.NET I know this because we have agreements in place where they will not mark them up too much.

Good luck and hope business and family is safe for everyone.

Correct. Neither hurts nor helps in Google's eyes.

We have seen some directional evidence with our other gTLDs that they crawl the "new gTLDs" quicker for new websites...but again, they would never confirm or deny that officially.

It does however provide branding/advertising benefit (if you need it) it helps with recall (again if you are looking for that) and also helps categorize for users WHAT it is they are shopping for.

Basically I'm very happy if they are saying it gets treated the same. Bottom line, no matter the website platform or URL you still need to put in the hard SEO work, no shortcuts there unfortunately.

Just as most presumed. Have fun with it for branding, if you must, but it's not going to help you. Most users, especially those with buying power, are used to hearing a .com in a domain name.

Yep, I agree, nothing new in that article.

As to shopping behavior and what a customer with "buying power" are looking for, thats up for unlimited debate, I guess.

Four years later and .dealer TLDs
We just had a great discussion on URL / Domain extensions on todays RefreshFriday. I was worried this was going to be quite a boring broadcast but instead it was the OPPOSITE! Check out the recording here - #RefreshFriday - URLs. Why should you care? And how to launch .dealer?

What’s in a URL?
Such a simple thing we all take for granted online is such a powerful thing that we can get burned for not understanding them.

1.) What are some of the problems with today’s car dealer URLs?
2.) How can a quality URL help maximize your advertising cost?
3.) What are some of the Best URLs .Dealer will have available?
4.) What is your Pioneer Program?
5.) How does the Registry/Registrar relationship work?
  • Do dealerships that already have a .com need a .dealer?
  • Explain the .dealer launch process
  • Explain .dealer pricing
  • How do .dealer domains impact SEO or traffic?
PLUS several questions from our viewers get answered..

Last you heard from Andy MacLeay he was repping Dealer dot com and that automatically gives him some street' cred on talking about online things, but you may not know Shayan. He helped bring us .inc, .xyz, and 9 other domain endings in more than 230 countries. So yeah, he might also know a thing or two about it.

Andy is leading the charge on .dealer, so be ready to take advantage of that one. But before you do so, watch the RefreshFriday webcast(posted below) and then load Andy and Shayan up with any question and comments you may have!!

Four years later and .dealer Domain extensions are still proven to be a useful tool for dealers across all industries!

This is the definitive domain name for dealers. If you're wondering why, here are a few reasons:

1. Instant recognition of the purpose of your website
2. Saves time and money by avoiding aftermarket prices (more information on our retailers below)
3. Legitimizes your business online
4. Wide variety of 1-word domain names crucial to your industry

Save yourself money and avoid aftermarket pricing through any of our authorized retailers. All authorized retailers can be found at this link: .dealer Domains | Retailers

If you're interested in a .dealer domain or just want to learn more, you can visit .dealer Domains or feel free to contact me directly at 647-880-0728 or [email protected]

but... why? you're literally paying over $1000 a year to get .dealer - versus like ten bucks to get a .com... and causing more headaches

if you're KershnerFord.com - people immediately recognize the purpose of your site. or if they see it in an ad, they clearly know what you do. hardly ANYONE remembers a domain name and types it in, they all do a search for the business name, so the URL doesn't matter.

Plus, like @Ryan Everson pointed out a few years ago, if you encourage people to search for you by your domain name instead of your business name (and it's something like texas-ford.dealer), then people will search "texas ford dealer" - so you're encouraging people to do searches that will show your competitor
